What is CUDARC?
The Volusia and Flagler County College and University Disaster Assessment & Research Center (CUDARC) is administered by the Volusia-Flagler Higher Education Consortium and uses a multidisciplinary collaboration of academic scholars and disaster professionals to study natural and man-made threats to the people and communities of Central Florida. CUDARC assists in the preparation for and mitigation of disasters by:

- Conducting high quality academic research focused on questions raised by the disaster response agencies inCentral Florida.
- Generating research reports and presentations that focus on the problems communities face before, during, and after disasters or terrorist attacks.
- Attracting grants, contracts, and other revenue to support ongoing research and a program of dynamic and diverse regional national conferences.
- Identifying qualified faculty to do research and offer a rich program of student internships, independent study opportunities and special seminars on disaster-related research.
